Rev Dr Curdell McLeod
(7 June 1939 – 9 October 2019)
Rev Dr Curdell was a called, anointed, servant of the Gospel with an apostolic mandate to reach the world for Jesus Christ.
She was a visionary, sacrificial leader with a spirit of excellence; a bridge-builder, educator, courageous pioneer and media broadcaster. She was also a pastor with a heart of a true shepherd, an extraordinarily compassionate woman of God, who poured herself out in helping people spiritually, socially and physically.
Since Dr Curdell and her husband Pastor Herby planted LWCF in 2000 she devoted herself to the fulfilment of her 3-fold calling:
-
To preach the gospel & minister healing & deliverance to all - Mark 16:15
-
To establish a New Testament Church under the Lordship of Jesus Christ - Matt 16:18
-
To equip, train and lead believers to maturity - Eph 4:12
Dr Curdell was a prolific evangelist, ministering to everyone in her sphere of influence, across England and internationally, in Jamaica, Sweden, Holland and South Africa. She quickly embraced the media as an evangelistic tool, extending her audience through ‘The Living Word Programmes’ broadcast on SKY and UCB TV. She also broadcast ‘short spots’ for UCB radio and a weekly teaching series on Premier Christian Radio, offering counselling and an open prayer line, engaging with multitudes after transmission, via email and telephone ministry, personally leading many to salvation.
Rev. Dr Curdell was a great investor in people, she was passionate about teaching and training others and saw countless lives transformed and ministries birthed, as students applied Biblical truths in practice. She taught at Hampstead Bible College and was on Faculty and Dean of Students at South London Christian College. As a tribute to her legacy a Rev Dr Curdell McLeod Bursary was established at Spurgeon's College, to support Christian Leadership Development and Ministry over a number of years.
She leaves behind a great legacy, an established church, lives transformed and believers’ now walking in their destiny and calling.
Rev Dr Curdell fought a good fight, she ran a great race and kept the faith... well done good and faithful servant!
